What can I store?
Can I leave a car with 1BOX?
Most units are not suitable for holding a car. In Goes and Rijswijk we do have options for parking a car. Contact the location manager to discuss the options.
Can I store a motorbike with 1BOX?
You can leave your motorbike in storage with us. Please note: for fire safety reasons, your motorbike’s battery must be disconnected.
What things am I not allowed to store?
The following things may not be stored:
– Chemical products
– Jewels or jewellery
– Works of art and collectibles
– Live animals
– Gas tanks
– Radioactive materials

What is the notice period?
We apply a notice period of 15 calendar days.

Can I start a rental on any day or date?
The rental contract can begin on any day of the month. From the start date of the rental contract you start to pay for your storage space.
Does the automatic bank payment stop as soon as my rental contract ends?
Yes, as soon as the rental contract ends and there are no more open invoices, the automatic bank payment will stop.
Is there a minimum rental term?
The minimum rental is 1 month, after that we apply a notice period of 15 calendar days. If you do not give enough notice to terminate the contract (allowing for the notice period) then the contract is automatically extended.
Is it mandatory to use a lock?
Each unit is secured using a specially designed locking system to which a personal lock is added. 1BOX does not hold extra keys to give us access to your storage space. The customer has the sole responsibility for locking up the storage unit correctly, using their personal lock. The correct type of lock can be purchased from your 1BOX branch.
Can I reserve a storage unit?
It is possible to reserve a unit up to 1 month before the start date of the contract. Contact the location manager to discuss the options.
Will I have to pay VAT?
Private individuals are exempt from VAT for rental of storage space. For business customers, VAT will be invoiced.
Do I need to insure the goods I have stored?
You are required to insure the goods you put into storage. If you would like some advice, please contact the branch manager.
What information do you need to sign a rental contract?
When you sign a rental contract we will need the following information:
- Private individual: Official ID, a recent bank statement or official letter with your IBAN-number, deposit of € 50.
- Business: Official ID, copy of registration with Chamber of Commerce, VAT-number and deposit of € 50.
Will 1BOX have access to my unit with a passkey and/or a spare key?
No, we do not have access to your unit. The renter is the only one who has access to their own unit.
Can I access my things 24 hours per day?
We are open every day from 6:00 to 23:00. By arrangement it is also possible to gain access to your unit outside these opening times. Contact the location manager to discuss the options.
Is their power available in the unit for a trickle charger for a vintage car/motorbike
For fire safety reasons you can only store motorbikes which have their battery disconnected. It is not possible to store a vintage car with a trickle charger. Discuss your options with the branch manager.
Are my things safe with 1BOX?
All branches have cameras installed and people can only gain access to the building with their personal access code. In addition, the branch managers check each branch every day.
How can I find out what size of unit I need?
We have units to suit everyone. The online storage calculator will tell you which size and shape you need. Our branch managers are also available at all times to provide personal advice.
Do you have a trailer available for hire?
All of our renters can have free use of a trailer twice. If you need a trailer more frequently than these, then you can hire it for €25 per day. Please always ask the branch manager in advance to confirm availability.
Do you also hire out vans?
No we do not hire out any removal vans. We recommend that you contact your local car rental company to book a delivery van/removal van. If you decide to use a delivery van and/or a removal van please note the height of the roll-up doors in our branch.
Do you have air conditioning in your branches?
We have regulated climate control so that all the units remain dry, well ventilated and above freezing throughout the year.
Can I get to my unit by car?
Every branch has a number of units you can access by car. In all branches there are multiple entries with roll-up doors so that you can unload under cover, and all branches also have transportation equipment.
