At 1BOX, you rent your own storage space for your personal belongings or your business. You choose a branch and a unit that suits you, so you have space again at home or at work. Below you can read how it works: from choosing your storage unit to bringing your belongings.
How much storage space you need depends on what you want to store. A few boxes, for example, can fit in a locker. For the contents of a studio apartment, you might consider a storage unit of a few square metres, depending on the amount of furniture and boxes.

Choose one of our 29 branches throughout the Netherlands. Close to home is convenient during a renovation; close to work can be pleasant if you regularly pick up stock or tools.
The rental price depends on the size of your storage unit and the branch you choose. View the available storage units, prices, and any promotions at your chosen branch. Also consider additional costs and promotional terms, so you know what you'll pay at the start and thereafter.
You can rent your storage unit directly or reserve it up to one month in advance. You can start on any day of the month, so your storage unit is available when you need it.

To finalize your rental contract, we need some data and documents. Please have the following ready:
For private storage:
• A valid ID.
• A recent bank statement or postal item.
• Your bank card with IBAN.
For business storage:
• A valid ID.
• A Chamber of Commerce extract.
• Your VAT number.
You pay the rent monthly via direct debit. Your contract and invoices can be found in the customer portal.
Insurance for your stored items is mandatory and is arranged through 1BOX. You cannot use your own home contents insurance for this. The insurance premium is part of your monthly amount; check if the coverage matches the value of your items. Then complete your first payment. Private individuals do not pay VAT on the rental of a storage unit; business tenants do. Everyone pays VAT for garage boxes and parking spaces.

You will receive instructions for the app associated with your branch. Download the app, activate your access with the SMS code, and select your storage unit. You can then open your unit via the app.
Ensure internet and Bluetooth are enabled. You can also grant access to others via the app, such as your partner or an employee.
Everything packed and ready to bring your belongings to your storage unit? At all locations, trolleys and other transport aids are available to help you move your items to your storage space. Depending on the branch, there are units accessible by car and multiple entrances with roller doors for loading and unloading.
At branches where a trailer is available, customers can use a trailer for free for two full days.

Need to pick something up before work or bring items to your storage unit on the weekend? At 1BOX, you have access 365 days a year, from 06:00 to 23:00.
How you open the premises, building, and your storage unit varies by branch. For example, you can open the access gate with a personal code and your storage unit with an app. You will receive the instructions specific to your branch for this.
Of course, you want to leave your belongings with peace of mind. That's why we combine a private, lockable storage unit with security for the premises and building.
Our security measures include, depending on the branch:
• 24/7 camera surveillance
• Personal access whose use is registered
• An alarm per unit with notification to a control room
• Fire detection
• Well-lit corridors
• Daily checks by the branch manager
Furniture, moving boxes, clothes, tools, archives, or business inventory: you can store many different items at 1BOX. Make sure everything fits inside your storage unit and that the door can close properly.
To keep storage safe and pleasant, some items are not allowed:
• Explosives and fireworks
• Weapons and ammunition
• Drugs and other illegal goods
• Dangerous chemicals and gas cylinders
• Live animals
• Food and waste

Rent from one month
You rent a storage unit at 1BOX for a minimum of one month. Do you temporarily need extra space or want to store your items longer? You choose a solution that suits your situation.
Need a larger or smaller storage unit?
Does the amount of items you want to store change? Contact us to switch to a larger or smaller unit. Switching to another branch is also possible, depending on availability.
How to cancel your storage unit
No longer need your storage unit? Submit your cancellation in writing via email, the customer portal, or by post. After the first month, you can cancel with a notice period of 15-45 days.
• If you cancel before the 16th of the month? Then you pay until the end of that month.
• If you cancel on or after the 16th of the month? Then your contract continues until the end of the next month.
After termination of your contract, the direct debit stops.

With Self Storage, you rent your own storage space for your personal belongings or business inventory. You choose a branch and the size you need, finalize your rental and payment, and bring your items to your unit. You can then pick them up or replenish them yourself whenever it suits you, within the access hours.
You can reserve up to one month in advance. Your rental can start on any day of the month.

Yes. With Nokē and PTI, you can share access via the app. With SC Access, you arrange this by contacting us and providing that person's details.
