What is the notice period?
We use a notice period of 15 calendar days.
What are the rental conditions?

Can I start renting every day?
The rental contract can start any day of the month. You will start paying for your storage space from the start date of the rental contract.
Does the direct debit stop as soon as my rental contract has ended?
Yes, as soon as the rental contract has been terminated and no further invoices are outstanding, the direct debit will stop.
Is there a minimum rental period?
The minimum rent is 1 month and after that we use a notice period of 15 calendar days. If you do not cancel the contract in time (taking into account the notice period), the contract will be automatically extended.
Is the use of a lock mandatory?
Each unit is secured with a specially designed locking system on which a personal lock is fitted. 1BOX has no extra keys that give us access to your storage space. The customer is solely responsible for properly locking the storage space using the personal lock. The suitable lock can be purchased at your 1BOX branch.
Can I reserve a storage space?
It is possible to reserve a unit up to 1 month prior to the commencement date of the contract. Please contact the location manager to discuss the possibilities.
Do I pay VAT?
Private individuals are exempt from VAT when renting space. VAT is charged for business tenants.
Do I have to insure my stored goods?
It is mandatory to insure the stored goods. If you need advice, please contact the branch manager.
What information do you need to conclude a rental contract?
When concluding a rental contract, we need the following information:
- Private: Identification, a recent bank statement or postal item with your IBAN number, deposit of € 50.00.
- Business: Identification, extract from the Chamber of Commerce, VAT number and deposit of € 50.00.
Wat mag ik opslaan?
Can I park a car at 1BOX?
Most units are not suitable for parking a car. In Goes and Rijswijk it is possible to park a car. Please contact the location manager to discuss the possibilities.
Can I store a motorcycle at 1BOX?
It is possible to store your motorcycle with us. Note: For fire safety reasons, the battery must be disconnected from the motor.
Which objects should I not save?
The following objects may not be saved:
– Chemical products
– Coastal objects and collection items
– Live animals
– Gas cylinders
– Accumulators and batteries
– Radioactive materials

How do I rent a storage unit?
With 1BOX Self Storage you can select the desired size of the storage space yourself. Then choose the desired location in the building. Choose the day you want to move in and the insurance value of the items you will be storing. Then fill in your contact details and click on “Continue”. In the next window you must agree to the rental contract, insurance, collection and the general terms and conditions. After accepting these documents, your identity will be verified through an iDIN Verification. After successfully completing the aforementioned steps, you will receive a confirmation by email.
You will receive an SMS on your phone number with a verification code to install the NOKE app (for a complete explanation, see How does the app work? ).
I have not received an SMS with a verification code
Hit the “Forgot Password” feature on the app’s home page. If this does not work, check under “My pages” whether your telephone number is correct. It must be a mobile number with the following format +316xxxxxxxx. If the telephone number is correct and you still have not received an SMS with the verification code, please contact us at 045-8510176 or Heerlen@1box.nl.
How does the app work?

Can I give someone else access to my storage space?
You can choose to allow someone else to access your storage space. You do this in the app under the user’s tab by pressing the “+” symbol in the top right corner. You can also delete a user in the same way.
How can I open the entrance doors of the establishment?
The entrance doors of the establishment can only be opened with the NOKE app. The app only works when Bluetooth is on and you are within 5 meters of the door.
What kind of phone do I need?
You must have an iPhone with version iOS 12.0 or higher or an Android with version KitKat 4.4 or higher.
Why do I have to change my password?
So that only you have access to your private password.
Tips if the app doesn’t work
If the NOKE app is not working, you can follow these steps:
- Check if Bluetooth is on
- Verify that location services are turned on
- Restart the NOKE app
- Check if there is an available update (see App store or Google play)
- The Bluetooth signal can sometimes be disturbed by some cars. If you are making a phone call from the car, disconnect
Does 1BOX have access to my unit with a key and/or a spare key.
No, we do not have access to your unit. The tenant has sole access to his own unit.
Can I access my belongings 24 hours a day?
We are open daily from 06:00 AM to 11:00 PM. It is possible to access your unit outside these times by appointment. Please contact the location manager to discuss the possibilities.
Is there electricity in the unit for a trickle charger, stables oldtimer / motorcycle
Due to fire safety, only motorcycles with the battery disconnected can be parked. Storing a classic car with a trickle charger is not possible. Discuss the options with the location manager.
Are my belongings safe at 1BOX?
All branches are equipped with cameras and people can only access the building with a personal access code. In addition, the branch managers check all branches on a daily basis.
How do I know what size unit is needed?
We have a suitable unit for everyone. The online storage calculator gives you insight into the size you need. Our branch managers are also always available for personal advice.
Do you also have a trailer for rent?
With us, all tenants can use a trailer free of charge up to 2 times. If you need the trailer more often, it is possible to rent it for €25 per day. Always discuss availability in advance with the location manager.
Do you also rent vans?
No, we do not rent moving vans. We advise you to contact your local rental company to reserve a van/moving van. If you use a delivery van and/or a moving van, please note the height of the roller doors at the location.
Do you regulate the climate in the location?
We have a regulated climate control so that all units are dry, ventilated and frost free all year round.
Is my unit accessible by car?
Each location has a number of units that are accessible by car. All branches have several entrances with roller doors so that the goods can be unloaded under cover, and transport materials are also available at all branches.
